THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHT
This week's spotlight shines on Mohr Animal Acres. While Trudy Mohr is often referred to as "the egg lady," Mohr Animal Acres offers much more than eggs. As the picture tells, you can save some dough on your meats by joining Mohr's meat CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). And, a CSA membership can be a great gift idea, one that will help the recipient Eat Well, while also supporting a local farmer. For more information, stop by their booth at market or visit their website http://mohranimalacres.biz/ If you are not quite ready to join the CSA, you may also purchase individual cuts of meats. This week they will have a variety of cuts of grass-fed beef, along with pork, goat, lamb. For information about the healthy benefits of eating grass-fed beef, refer to the Food For Thought section later in this newsletter.
Eggs and meats are not the only items available from Mohrs. They also offer goat's milk lotions and soaps, and they sell local maple syrup that they obtain from a neighboring farmer in their area. Mohr Animal Acres attends market every other week. They will be at market this Friday.

NOTICES
- For those who have missed seeing Passport Coffee, take heart: they will be at market this Friday and will be offering some special items. Thereafter, they will attend the first Friday of each month throughout the winter market. For those who are looking for something other than coffee, they will also have tins of homemade hot chocolate mix. Yummy!
- Remember to fill out your free raffle ticket each week at the Market Management booth. At the end of market day the last Friday of each month during the winter market (Nov. through April) we will draw a ticket and the lucky customer will win $20 in Market Bucks, which they can use at any of the vendor booths (no expiration date). FOOD FOR THOUGHT
"...grass-fed beef is lower in total fat than grain-fed, higher in ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), and has a lower omega-6/omega-3 ratio, all of which reduce the risk of coronary heart disease and the incidence of fatal heart attacks. A lower ratio of omega 6/omega 3 fatty acids also promotes higher bone density."
