Newsletter for Friday June 7, 2013.

Some customers have asked us when we will be moving back to Harvest Home Park; therefore, we realize that not everyone has been made aware that we will be staying at Cheviot United Methodist Church throughout the summer.  Please help us spread the word about the market's correct location!

While the market's year round location is Cheviot United Methodist Church 3820 Westwood Northern Blvd. 45211, the location at the church varies depending on other activities at the church and depending on the weather (sunny and warm, we're outside; stormy or cold, we're inside).  Just follow the happy voices and you'll find us.

THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHT
This week we celebrate the market's 3rd birthday and you are invited to celebrate with us.  As the saying goes, "Time flies when you're having fun."  We could also add, "And when you are very busy."  While it seems like the market has been around for a very long time, it also seems like just yesterday that we began the arduous process of developing Lettuce Eat Well Farmers' Market.  Loads and loads of work goes into developing a farmers' market, and even more work goes into continuing to have a viable market.  The market has grown since its first year as we added new vendors who offer many additional items.  Our hats are off to all the vendors who put forth much effort to bring our customers such quality products each week.  Thanks to our Very Valued Vendors.

And what would a farmers' market be without customers?  Of course, there would be no market without our Very Valued Customers; therefore, at the market's birthday party this Friday you, the customer, receive the gifts.  The first 25 customers who purchase a market bag at the regular price of $7.00 will receive $5.00 in Market Bucks which can be spent at any of the vendor booths.

Another gift to our customers comes in the form of a free class in Tai Chi.  We are grateful to Jackie Millay for her gracious offer to demonstrate and teach the graceful, relaxing art of Tai Chi to market customers this Friday.  Jackie is quite gifted in both teaching and in helping people learn to increase their sense of overall well being.  She will be at market this Friday from 3:15 until 4:45.  If you enjoy what you learn from Jackie at the market you can follow up with her at her studio.  For more information, visit Jackie's website at http://www.harmonicpulsewellness.com/

NOTICES
  • Romans Family Farm will not be at market this Friday.  They expect to return next Friday.

REMINDERS
While some of you are long-time readers of the newsletter, people who are new to the market are reading the newsletter for the first time; therefore, the Reminders section is included each week so new folks can see what's happening around the market and around town.

The Romans Family Farm, who has been a Very Valued Vendor at LEWFM since its first year of operation, are returning again for this summer's market.  YAY!  They will again be offering their Eating Seasonally CSA (Community Supported Agriculture).  If you are unfamiliar with the concept of a CSA, there are many online sites where you can learn more, such as the Local Harvest Website http://www.localharvest.org/csa/    Eating Seasonally CSA is currently taking applications for their 2013 CSA.  For further information you can visit their Facebook page here.

  1. Also, I was able to reach him in the baby bassinet quickly when he awoke making it less of a distraction to
my husbands sleep as he unfortunately had to be up by 4:
30 am. If you have a small nursery set up, space could be a major issue.
A toddler bed is often used when the baby gets a little bigger.
