Some customers have asked us when we will be moving back to Harvest Home Park; therefore, we realize that not everyone has been made aware that we will be staying at Cheviot United Methodist Church throughout the summer. Please help us spread the word about the market's correct location!
While the market's year round location is Cheviot United Methodist Church 3820 Westwood Northern Blvd. 45211, the location at the church varies depending on other activities at the church and depending on the weather (sunny and warm, we're outside; stormy or cold, we're inside). Just follow the happy voices and you'll find us.
THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHT
Why is the couple pictured above so happy? Because they know they are going to Eat Well because they purchased their food at Lettuce Eat Well Farmers' Market. Rather than going to the grocery store first and then filling in with a few items from the farmers' market, they came to the farmers' market first and then will visit the grocery store for the few items that are not available locally.
Why is it important to make the majority of your food purchases at your farmers' market? Because, who we support will survive: Buy from the grocery stores, agribusiness will survive; make your food purchases at the farmers' market, local growers and producers will survive. An often quoted phrase says it well, "No Farms No Food." And to expound on that: No Farmland No Farms.
For more information about how essential it is that we support our local producers and help protect farmland, you can visit the American Farmland Trust I Love My Farmers' Market campaign website http://action.farmland.org/site/PageServer?pagename=farmers_market_infographic&autologin=true While on the website you can add your voice to those who know that saving farmland is important.
Also, each week that you spend at least $10.00 at our market remember to stop by the market management booth to fill out your free raffle ticket, which makes you eligible to win a market bag filled with market items (prize awarded at end of campaign in Sept.).
