Some customers have asked us when we will be moving back to Harvest Home Park; therefore, we realize that not everyone has been made aware that we will be staying at Cheviot United Methodist Church throughout the summer. Please help us spread the word about the market's correct location!
While
the market's year round location is Cheviot United Methodist Church
3820 Westwood Northern Blvd. 45211, the location at the church varies
depending on other activities at the church and depending on the weather
(sunny and warm, we're outside; stormy or cold, we're inside). Just
follow the happy voices and you'll find us.
THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHT
This week's newsletter is a bit whimsical, consisting primarily of pictures that portray the ingredients of a well loved farmers' market. The pictures were taken at last week's celebration of the culmination of American Farmland Trust's I Love My Farmers' Market Campaign. The necessary ingredients of this well loved market include vendors and their quality products, volunteers and their willingness to do anything that needs to be done, customers who show up each week to purchase their food and non food items as a way to support their local producers while providing the best of the best for their family, musicians to set our toes to tapping, and last but not least, a great location generously provided to the market by Cheviot United Methodist Church, providing both outside and inside space. Now, on with the picture show.
Even last week's rain didn't stop the celebration. We simply moved the show inside. Hannah, along with other vendors, was happy to have the dry indoor space. Notice that Charles' shirt looks a bit wet. That's because he, along with Jake a U.C. grad student volunteer (who is a huge help each week), Fred the Photographer, and even some customers jumped in to help everything get moved inside after the shower started but before the sky opened up.
As part of the celebration, each of the vendors received a certificate of appreciation for all the work they do to make the Market a success. The following pictures include some of the vendors receiving their certificates from Debbie Slaughter, City of Cheviot's President of the Council. Also pictured is Bob Schwallie, the customer who had the winning ticket in the I Love My Farmers' Market campaign raffle.

Although last week wrapped up the summer-long I Love My Farmers' Market Campaign, there is much more market to love. Because LEWFM is a year round market, you will be able to Eat Well on a continuing basis. With last week's special event behind us, we will now focus on the remainder of the summer market, as we also plan for the launch of the winter market. So, please stay tuned for details of all the fun and food (and non food) still to come.
