Newsletter for Friday September 21, 2012

                                       THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHT
Save the Date
We are excited to announce that on Friday September 28 Sally Godchalk, President of the Southwest Chapter of OEFFA (Ohio Ecological Food and  Farm Association), will be at our market to share with customers some vital information regarding GMO and other food production topics.  Perhaps you have been seeing and hearing a lot about GMO and yet remain confused about what this is all about.  Sally will be speaking with market customers to help dispel the confusion about this issue that is of great importance to anyone who is concerned about the safety and quality of the food they eat.  Sally will also be sharing information about OEFFA's upcoming showing of the film "The Future of Food."

If you are unfamiliar with OEFFA and the organization's important contributions to our local food system,  Sally offers the following brief quote from their website:

A good dinner can satisfy more than just our appetite. A vibrant, local food system can provide Ohio's family farmers with a secure income, while protecting our environment and meeting the growing consumer demand for fresh, safe, healthy food.  The Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association (OEFFA) was formed in 1979 and is a membership-based, grassroots organization, dedicated to promoting and supporting sustainable, ecological and healthful food systems.  OEFFA's membership includes farmers, consumers, gardeners, chefs, teachers, researchers, retailers and students. Together, all are working to recreate a regionally-scaled farming, processing, and distribution system that moves food from farm to local fork.
We hope you will help us spread the word about the special appearance of OEFFA at our market on Friday September 28.  Please forward this newsletter to friends and post it to your social media network.
