Newsletter for Friday, December 14.  Market is held at Cheviot United Methodist Church, 3820 Westwood Northern Blvd. 45211 from 3:00 until 7:00.

Special Notice about market location this week only:  Market will be held inside the main entrance of the church.  Look for the market's sandwich board sign directing you to the correct door.

THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHT
This week the spotlight shines on Bebe and her new baby.  Bebe's kid is the newest addition to the Mohr Animal Acres menagerie.  We've heard that various names have been suggested for the new arrival.  Perhaps you will want to stop by Mohr's booth this week and offer some ideas for baby names.  While you are at their booth you might also want to pick up some information about their meat CSA, to learn ways you can save money on your meat purchases.  And of course they will have the ever popular, eggs, along with a variety of meats.

Also, if you have a sweet tooth that is hungry for a treat, you can check out their goat's milk fudge.  The fudge is homemade by the Mohrs using milk from Bebe.  No, you won't be stealing milk from the kid:  Bebe has enough milk for her kid and some left over for making the most delicious fudge imaginable.  You can choose from the following flavors:  Peanut Butter, Chocolate, Butter Pecan, Mocha Cappacino and Butter Rum.  Yummy!

SEASONAL & CHANGING PRODUCTS/ITEMS
Mache
We continue to see a large variety of cool-weather crops at market.  Salad greens, cooking greens, radishes, turnips abound.  There's even been rumor that a new item will be showing up soon:  Mache, never before seen at LEWFM, should be arriving soon.  Ask Kate from Carriage House Farm for an update.  If Mache is not quite ready, be patient and it will be worth the wait.  Your scrumptious salad will love the addition of this delightfully delicious green.

REMINDER
Remember to fill our your free raffle ticket each week at the Market Management booth.  At the end of market day the last Friday of each month during the winter market (Nov. through April) we will draw a ticket and the lucky customer will win $20 in Market Bucks, which they can use at any of the vendor booths (no expiration date).  And, as a way to introduce more people to LEWFM, customers who bring new folks to the market will receive one additional raffle ticket for each new person they "bring" to the market (they don't actually have to come in your car.)

DID YOU KNOW?
The saying goes, "Many hands make light work."  If you are available to help out at market for as little as 2 hours per month, your assistance will take some of the load off the overloaded Market Management folks.  If you're available to lend a hand at the Market any time between 2:00pm and 7:30pm on Fridays, or during the week for more behind the scenes activities, check out the link below to contact us!

If you are interested in being a vendor at our Market you can also contact us with the link below.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
"When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect."

from A Sand County Almanac, by Aldo Leopold

Some questions to ask oneself:
How am I using the land around my home?  How is the land around my neighborhood, place of employment, my children's school, and other areas I frequent, being used?  How can I be instrumental in these lands being put to better use?

Please share this newsletter with friends and family to help spread the word about LEWFM!
We hope to see you real soon at Lettuce Eat Well Farmers' Market!
