Some customers have asked us when we will be moving back to Harvest Home Park; therefore, we realize that not everyone has been made aware that we will be staying at Cheviot United Methodist Church throughout the summer. Please help us spread the word about the market's correct location!
While the market's year round location is Cheviot United Methodist Church 3820 Westwood Northern Blvd. 45211, the location at the church varies depending on other activities at the church and depending on the weather (sunny and warm, we're outside; stormy or cold, we're inside). Just follow the happy voices and you'll find us.
THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHT
What a truly joyous occasion: Last Friday's opening of the Summer Market was delightful. Picture perfect weather, vendors and their exceptional products, and customers who were pleased with the numerous selections resulted in a spectacular day. All the hard work that went into the day was worth it as we saw the smiling faces of both customers and vendors, as evidenced by the picture above of "Jenny the Pie Lady" and the customers who were delighted with her made-from-scratch desserts. All of that, and special guest vendors, and the electronics recycling event made for a day to remember. BTW: for those who did not have time to dig out your old electronics, eCycleIT said they will be glad to make a repeat appearance. We will keep you informed as to their return date.

While some of you are long-time readers of the newsletter, people who are new to the market are reading the newsletter for the first time; therefore, the Reminders section is included each week so new folks can see what's happening around the market and around town.
The Romans Family Farm, who has been a Very Valued Vendor at LEWFM since its first year of operation, will be returning again for this summer's market. YAY! They will again be offering their Eating Seasonally CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). If you are unfamiliar with the concept of a CSA, there are many online sites where you can learn more, such as the Local Harvest Website http://www.localharvest.org/csa/ Eating Seasonally CSA is currently taking applications for their 2013 CSA. Angela Ebner from Permaganic will be one of our special guest vendors during the month of May kickoff of the Summer of Sustainability. Angela will share her expertise in the area of permaculture, a sustainable way to use your land. Angela and her husband Luke also work with youth in the Over the Rhine area of Cincinnati. They use gardening as a way to help the kids in many ways. Angela emailed us recently asking us to help spread the word about their fundraising effort. Following is information about their campaign that runs only until June 10, 2013.
Please consider clicking on the following link to view/read and help fund our Youth Interns this year. The goal we set is for $1,000, which funds one teen. Or help us exceed the goal and unlock a matching grant. All donations are tax-deductible.

There are times when something that seems too good to be true is actually true. Granny's Garden School in Loveland is sharing their good fortune. They recently received a donation of Garden Claws to be used for fund raising. If you are unfamiliar with how awesome the garden claw is, watch the demonstration video here.
[it's the second video, further down the page, picturing the children with Granny]
