Literature Table at Market (Click image to enlarge) |
This week's newsletter offers a preview of important unfoldings for LEWFM. While we will not be changing the name of the market, we will be expanding the market's focus to: Lettuce Eat Well & Live a More Sustainable Life. The Market Management Team/Special Events Coordinator/Marketing Director have been busy making plans for the new focus for the market. For some time now we have been saying; "We know LEWFM is meant to be more than a Farmers' Market" and, "We want to take LEWFM to the next level."
Accomplishing everything we have our sights on will take a joint effort and we hope you will be on board with us. At this point much of our ideas are just that, ideas. To bring them to fruition we will continue to brainstorm ways to help each of us Live a More Sustainable Life. We also look to you to offer your ideas. You can stop by the Market Management booth or simply email us at lewfmlocal@gmail.com to share your thoughts.
From the feedback we have already received from shoppers, we are aware that many of you want to Live a More Sustainable Life and are eager to learn ways to do so. Therefore, we will use the weekly newsletter, in part, as an informational tool, adding ideas gleaned from many sources. We hope you will incorporate the suggested changes into your life, making this year one of Living a More Sustainable Life. To view this week's pick, click here
Another source of useful information is the literature table found in the center of the market. In addition to fliers about important events and issues, the literature table also includes a recommend read, most of which are available free from your local library. The books offer many suggestions and instructions folks can incorporate into their day to day lives, changes that can make a real difference to people and the planet. If we each make just one change per week, by next year at this time we will be well on our way to Living a More Sustainable Live.
