Newsletter for Friday, December 7, 2012  Market is held at Cheviot United Methodist Church 3820 Westwood Northern Blvd. 45211 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm

THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHT
Persevering Producers Provide Persistent Produce:  We offer a huge Thank You to Kate Cook of Carriage House Farm for hanging in there through this up and down weather.  Because of Kate's persistence, we are able to continue to have wonderful salad greens, cooking greens, radishes, and a plethora of other healthy veggies.  The above picture is only a representation of what Kate grows.  Be aware that items change from week to week, providing customers with wonderful surprises each market day.  Carriage House Farm also offers dried herbs and spices, along with grains, including wheat berries, cornmeal and polenta.  They also sell their own local honey.

NOTICES

 AND THE WINNER IS......
The smiling face in the picture belongs to Mary Anne Cowgill, the winner of $20 in Market Bucks.  Mary Anne's winning ticket was drawn at random at the end of last Friday's market.  This special promo will continue throughout the winter market.  If you would like a chance to be December's winner, remember to stop by the Market Management booth to fill out a free raffle ticket every week you visit the market.  And, if you bring a new person to market you will receive an additional free raffle ticket.  A winning ticket will be drawn at the end of market the last Friday of each month during winter market.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
To learn what can happen when a few people join together to make a change in their town, click here http://www.ted.com/talks/pam_warhurst_how_we_can_eat_our_landscapes.html

Do you have 2 or 3 neighbors who will join you in making a change in your community?  It only takes one person to begin the change.  Conversely, if no one initiates change, likely no positive change will take place.

  1. It's difficult to find well-informed people on this subject, but you seem like you know what you're talking about!
